San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua – The crescent shaped bay is speckled with local fishing boats, sailing boats, sport fishing yachts, and on some days, a large cruise ship bringing visitors in for a day. Thatch-roofed or “palapa roof” bars and restaurants line the long, sandy beach and serve cold drinks, fresh seafood, and traditional Nicaraguan cuisine. At sunset, both locals and visitors gather at the water’s edge to relax and watch children play soccer on the beach.

Playas del Coco, Costa Rica – This sleepy little fishing village has more to it than meets the eye, from surfing to parties, there is something for everyone.

National Park Santa Rosa, Costa Rica – This national park in Costa Rica was established because of a battle that took place there on March 20, 1856, that barely lasted fifteen minutes. At this battle, troops of filibusters that wanted to take over and enslave Costa Rica, retreated because of the attack of Tico troops. The flora and fauna of the area are fortunate that this battle took place in this area, because without its occurrence, hundreds of species and their ecosystem would now be extinct or endangered.

Puerto Carrillo, Costa Rica – Costa Rica’s hidden tropical paradise on the Pacific ocean. It is the perfect, long, white sand beach with shallow, gentle waters. Samara has a superb coral reef and its own picturesque and deserted wooded island in the bay – Isla Chora.
