The Venetian influence from the years of the Renaissance, when the Venetian Maritime Republic, dominated the Adriatic and Ionian, is a common thread that can be seen in all these ports of call, with the symbol of the Lion of Venice evident on the fortresses and public buildings that still stand to this day. Even the cuisine shows common Venetian influences, though the contrasts between these enchanting ports of call are equally evident and striking. Dominated over the millennia by Ancient Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, Venetians, Ottomans and Austro Hungarians, each has left their mark on the landscape and culture. In fact, in places like the Ionian Isles, even the British had their day, which is why in Corfu, you can watch a cricket match whilst enjoying an iced coffee at a Liston café.

Seafarer Announces New 2014 Cruise Destination
Seafarer, a leading Small ship and yacht cruise specialist has announced an exciting new exotic winter cruise destination for 2014 in Costa Rica and Colombia including transit of the Panama canal. This cruise is operated by market leaders in thjeir sector of mage Yacht cruises for under 100 passengers, Athens based Variety Cruises for which Seafarer has for many years acted as UK general sales Agent.
The cruise will be operated on the flagship of the Variety Cruises fleet, the 36 cabin mega yacht variety Voyager.
